自然の姿を美しいと思う時。

犬が遠吠えをしている姿は、喩えようのない程美しい。



遠吠えの目的は大まかに言ってしまうと「群れの存在を確かめること」にあるのだとか。この動画の彼もしくは彼女（ハスキー）は、いったい何を思って遠吠えをしたんだろうか。それにしても、このハスキーの美しさって、何なのだろう。私は人間の赤ちゃんや子供が苦手なので、余計犬にばかり目が行ってしまいがちなのは否めないが、それにしても、このハスキーの遠吠えの姿には、胸をつかれる思いがする。

正直、エコとか行き過ぎた自然愛護には反発を覚えてしまう方なのだが、古の時代にまで響くようなこの遠吠えに、そしてまるで一つの楽器のような姿を見せるハスキーには、美しいという言葉以外見いだせない。

この遠吠えを聴いていると、ディズニーのアニメ映画「ポカホンタス」の主題歌を連想する。小学校の時、ビデオを買ってもらい、サントラも買い、何度も何度も聴いた思い出の歌です。（実際には「様々な批判に晒された」作品ということも忘れてはなりませんが）歌詞がとっても美しい。
